Relemi is an AI shopping assistant. To work, it needs some of your data: what you ask, your lists and roughly where you are. This page says what that is, who sees it and how to get rid of it.
In short
- We keep your account, your chats, your shopping lists, your pantry and a saved location, so the app can work.
- We don’t sell your data, we don’t use it for advertising and we don’t use it to train AI models.
- To answer you, your messages go to AI and search services. Your shopping lists and your pantry go to none of them.
- Chats are deleted after 90 days without a new message. The rest stays until you delete it.
- You can ask for a copy of your data, or for all of it to be deleted, at any time: relemi.official@gmail.com.
Who we are
Relemi (“we”, “us”) makes the Relemi app and this website, and is responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach us at relemi.official@gmail.com.
What we collect, and why
- Your account. Your email address, your name and how you sign in: with an email and a password, or with Google or Apple. Signing in is handled by Google’s Firebase Authentication: your password is kept only there, as a hash, and we never see it.
- Your conversations. What you write to the assistant and what it answers, so a chat can continue. If you speak instead of typing, your phone’s own speech recognition turns your voice into text (Apple’s on an iPhone; on Android usually Google’s or the phone maker’s), under its provider’s terms. Relemi receives only the text, never the sound.
- What you search for. The things you ask Relemi to find: places on a map, product offers or online shops. The places and offers shown to you are kept with the chat, so you can ask about “the second one”.
- Your lists and your pantry. The names and colours of your lists and the items on them, with the shop and price when you added one from a product card; and the things you keep at home, with where and, if you give one, a best-before date.
- Your location. The location you save in your profile is used to look for places within about 25 km, and for online shops in your country. If you tap Directions and allow it, your phone’s current location is used for that one route, and is not stored.
- Technical data. An anonymous code on your device that ties a chat to the app that started it. Your IP address, held in memory for a day at most, to limit abuse (how many messages and searches one address can send). Logs of calls to AI services, without the text of your messages.
Sensitive information
Some messages say something about your health, a diet, a medicine or your religion, for example when you ask for gluten-free or halal food. Relemi recognises many of them and keeps such a message in the chat only as “[Sensitive message not stored]”. Its words are kept for 24 hours at most, so the conversation can go on, and then deleted. When you ask for a search, those words are still part of the search text we send to the search services below.
Shopping lists and the pantry are different: they are kept as you wrote them, even an item such as a medicine. If you’d rather not have something kept, leave it off, or delete it afterwards.
Who receives your data
We use these services to run Relemi. Each one gets only what it needs for its job.
- Google Firebase Authentication signs you in: your email address, your name and your password (as a hash), or the Google or Apple account you continue with. It also sees your IP address when you sign in.
- Google (the Gemini AI models, with Google Maps and Google Search) writes the replies. It gets your messages with the earlier messages of the chat, your country and your local time. For a search of places near you it also gets the search text and your location rounded to about 1 km, never the exact point; for a search of online shops, the search text and your country. Google keeps these search requests for 30 days, and we can’t delete them on your behalf.
- OpenAI is the back-up, used only when Google’s model is unavailable or gives no usable answer. It gets the same kind of message text, and never runs searches or sees their results. OpenAI may keep what it receives for up to 30 days to detect abuse, and does not train on it.
- Geoapify (in the EU) finds the places shown on the map: the kind of place you asked for, a diet if you named one, your location rounded to about 1 km and the language. Never your messages or your account. When you tap Directions, it also gets the place, the exact point the route starts from (where your phone is, or else your saved location) and how you travel, only at that tap. We store neither the point nor the route.
- Apify (in the USA) finds product offers: the product as you’d type it in a shop’s search box, your country and its language. It runs a program that looks the product up on Google Shopping, so Google receives that product search too.
- Our hosting provider stores everything described on this page. It is the only service that stores your shopping lists and your pantry.
Some of these services process data outside your country, including in the USA. When you ask the assistant to add something to a list or your pantry, only your words are read by the AI, as with any message, and nothing is added until you tap Add. Links in the results lead to Google Maps or to a shop’s own page, which have their own privacy policies; we don’t track what you open.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your data. We don’t use it for advertising. We don’t use what you write to train AI models, and we don’t share it with anyone beyond the services above.

Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use it, and to object to a use that rests on our legitimate interest (we rely on that only to limit abuse). Write to relemi.official@gmail.com and we will answer within one month.
Deleting your account removes your account, conversations, lists, pantry and profile; backups follow within 7 days. What Google or OpenAI already received goes on their own schedule, above. Where you gave your consent, for example to read your phone’s location, you can take it back at any time in your phone’s settings.
If you live in the EU, the EEA or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Age
Relemi is for people aged 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone younger; if you think we have, write to us and we will delete it.
This website
This website sets no cookies, has no analytics or advertising, and loads its fonts and images from itself. Like any web server, the one that hosts it may log requests, such as your IP address and the page you asked for, to keep the site secure. If you write to us, we use your email address and what you write only to answer you.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
